Sant Antoni Festivity – Tres Tombs (horses and other animals parade)
The feast of Sant Antoni Abad is celebrated on January 21 in Cambrils, traditionally dedicated to agriculture. He stands out as the Patron Saint of Farmers. The celebration includes a parade with artistic and satirical floats. The Three Tombs are the central event, with a parade of chariots and horses that repeats the route three times. The hermitage of Our Lady of the Way is a blessing point for the animals during the passage of the parade. Other activities such as concerts with an orchestra at noon and dancing in the afternoon complement the festivities around Sant Antoni.
Sunday January 21:
- Popular Breakfast at the Agricultural Cooperative
From 9 am at the Agricultural Cooperative. Bread, sausage, bacon, toast, extra virgin olive oil, water and futa. Price: €5
In addition, the 17th Cava Plate Exchange Meeting will take place.
THREE TOMBS:
- A review of the horses takes place at 10:00 and the departure of the cavalcade is at 11:30 from the cooperative.
- The parade follows a route through several streets, with the blessing of the horses in front of the Hermitage of the Virgin of the Way. There are three laps and at the end, each participant returns to their locations, escorted by the Green Patrol.
- Assistance is offered in case of incidents near the Hermitage, and the emergency contact is provided. The event culminates with the traditional Ball de Sant Antoni at the Palau d'Esports, with a concert at 6:00 p.m. and a dance at 7:15 p.m. The traditional Sant Antoni cake will be sold during the dance.
